Any distinct natural laws and/or properties of this world?
The FAR is a large metropolitan city and its immediate surrounding lands and regions. The city itself is geographically based on Hong Kong, but that is pretty much where the similarities end. Within the urban area, there are many city districts with distinct architecture, cultures, demographics and services. Outside of the many urban areas, there are suburban residential regions, agricultural regions, energy production areas, and other features you would expect to find outside of a major city. You can even find floating neighborhoods and superstructures in the surrounding waters, as Fragrance has a well-developed maritime industry.
Additionally, much of the surrounding land of Fragrance is wilderness. Out there, one could find any number of exotic flora and fauna.
One notable geological feature of the land is the existence of a live volcano below the northeastern plains. Though technically active, one would be hard pressed to find a single soul in FAR worrying about an eruption - the energy giant Thermadyne has taken the volcano by its throat using their state-of-the-art volcanic thermal extraction infrastructure H.E.A.T. - Holistic Eruption Attenuation Tethers. These kilometers long mechanical windpipes lined with tungsten-carbide nanotubes winds the interior of the volcano’s mouth as colossal induction coils, and the screeching turbine of the convective converter mindlessly pumps the freshly milked electricity deep into every nook and cranny of FAR.
